The fields you should complete here are Outgoing Mail(SMTP) Server, Incoming Mail (POP) Server, POP User Name (This is your email address - NOT your email address), and a little further down the News (NNTP) Server. All these details can be found on your Customer Connection Details sheet supplied with your account. For the rest of these option the installed defaults should be left in place.

If you want the Netscape Mail Reader to Remember your Mail Password tick the box under General.

The following setup areas deal with the way Netscape gets its information. These option are accessed through the Options ==> Network Preferences Menu. Select the tab for Cache :

Network Preferences cache settings

The Memory Cache value is the amount in kilobytes of actual RAM area Netscape will use for information while it is running - the higher the better but the folowing guidelines are considered 'healthy'. For machine that have 16 meg + of memory set Memory Cache to 1024, for those with 8 to 16 Meg of memory set Memory Cache to 512 and for those with 4 to 8 Meg of memory this value should be set to 256.

The Disk Cache is the amount of semi-permanent storage that Netscape uses to remember or store object from the Internet for a certain amount of time. This size is in kilobytes and should be at least 5,000 to 10,000 (5 to 10 Meg). Verify Documents should be set to Once per Session to keep information accurate (Netscape will verify at the start of every session ech object it has stored in its cache as it is needed - this stops old and out of date information being taken from the cache).

The next picture deals with Proxy Configuration and can be accessed by the Proxies tab :

Proxy server configuration

Tick the No Proxies option on this window, Netscape will now use the Intertech Country Internet transparent proxy system.

Press OK and you are all setup and ready to go.
