E-mail Software - Outlook 97 Microsoft Outlook is an e-mail program
which is included in MS Office 97. Configuring the software will be easy when
you follow our step by step guide here.
Step One Load Outlook by clicking on your Windows 95 Start button,
clicking on Programs and selecting Microsoft Outlook from the list of programs.
When it is finished loading click to where it says Tools and select Services
as shown in the diagram above. This will bring up Outlook's configuration
settings as displayed below.
Step Two Make sure you have Internet Mail highlighted as in the
diagram above (if it does not appear as an option, you will need to add it in
using the Add... button.) Once this is done, click onto the button
labeled Properties.
Having done this you will see a screen as shown below. This section is fairly
straight forward. First, enter your name into the Full Name section, then
enter your email reply address shown on your customer connection details into
the Email Address section. For the Internet Mail Server enter in
the POP server shown with your customer connection details that came with your
account.
Now you need to enter your email address and password. If you are unsure of
what these are, they can be found on your Customer Connection Detail sheet you
received when joining Intertech Country Internet.
Once you have filled in your settings, click on the button Message Format and
ensure you have a tick in the "Use MIME when sending messages" then click OK
Step Three Now click on the button Advanced Options. In this
window, enter the SMTP server that is on your customer connection detail sheet
then once complete, press OK.
Step 4 Click on the TAB labeled Connection.
In this window, select Connect using the modem, and select the entry
that matches Intertech Country Internet in the box labelled Dial using the
following connection.
You can now click OK as the configuration is complete.
