Mac Classic
On your Macintosh system, you will either have MacTCP or Open Transport
installed. These instructions are for MacTCP. To tell which one you have, have a
look in the Control Panels folder. There will either be MacTCP or
TCP/IP listed. If you have TCP/IP instead of MacTCP, then you have Open
Transport.
Setting up MacTCP Run MacTCP from your Control Panels folder. Make
sure that PPP is the only icon highlighted. (Please ignore the value set for the
IP Address listed)
Click on the More... button which should open a new dialog box listing
a range of settings.
Click the radio button for Server so that PPP obtains its IP address
from the server.
In the IP Address section, select Class C from the drop down
list.
Please ignore all other settings such as Gateway Address and
Net.
Setting up FreePPP To configure FreePPP, open the PPP Setup
application
Click on the Account tab, and enter in your Dial-In No (please
ensure it is a local call) and your Username/Login (eg.
fred@icisp.net.au ) and Dial-in Password.
Connecting to the Internet If all went well in the above steps,
you should be able to click the Connect button in FreePPP and
connect to the Internet. |
