Open Transport/PPP is the default dialer that comes with MacOS systems above
version 7.5.5. To open your connection to the Internet and configure it
correctly you must open the PPP control panel.
Access to the PPP control panel can be gained via the Apple menu. The
figure below shows how to open the PPP control panel via this menu.
In the next screen enter your username (eg. fred@icisp.net.au ) and password
into fields respectively. Enter the dialup phone number provided by Intertech
Country Internet, and ensure this is a local call charge. To continue
click on the arrow pointing right located at the bottom right hand of the screen
Tick the SAVE PASSWORD box if you want to be able to log straight in without
typing your password in each time.
You may customise the way your OT/PPP dialer works, including the amount of
idle time which must pass before it will automatically hang up your connection
to the Internet. After clicking the "OPTIONS" button you will be presented with
the options window shown below.
You can increase or decrease the time as shown. |
