Mac OS8 Technical Support Files

To start the configuration of the Internet for Mac OS 8.0, Double click on the icon marked Browse the Internet.

To continue through the configuration, click on the button marked Assist Me

You will be shown an introduction screen next, to continue click on the button marked Update.

Select Add Internet configuration, then to continue click on the arrow pointing right located at the bottom right hand of the screen.

In the field labeled What would you like to name this configuration type Intertech Country Internet (or something that will identify it as your Intertech Country Internet connection). Next to How will you be connecting to the Internet select Modem, then to continue click on the arrow pointing right located at the bottom right hand of the screen.

Select your modem from the list in this next window, if your modem is not listed, select: Hayes Optima/Accura 28.8K as this modem is a generic type of modem.

Select Modem Port from the list option box marked What port is the modem connected to? and select Tone from the radio boxes below.

To continue click on the arrow pointing right located at the bottom right hand of the screen.

Make sure the phone number is correct, and ensure this is a local call charge. Also enter your username (eg. fred@icisp.net.au ) and password into fields respectively. To continue click on the arrow pointing right located at the bottom right hand of the screen.

In the next screen select No as Intertech Country Internet automatically assigns an IP Address when a user logs in. To continue click on the arrow pointing right located at the bottom right hand of the screen.

The next screen will prompt you for Domain Name Server information. Leave fields blank.

To continue click on the arrow pointing right located at the bottom right hand of the screen.

On this screen you will be asked to type in your email address (eg. fred@icisp.net.au ) and your password. To continue, click on the arrow pointing right located at the bottom right hand of the screen.

In the field that asks for your POP account, type in the first part of your email address (eg. fred@icisp.net.au ), and in the SMTP host field, enter mail.icisp.net.au . To continue click on the arrow pointing right located at the bottom right hand of the screen.

In the next screen, type in the news server, news.icisp.net.au . To continue click on the arrow pointing right located at the bottom right hand of the screen.

To complete the configuration of Macintosh OS 8.0 for the Internet click on the button labeled Go Ahead.
